FILA & GELE( CAP & HEADGEAR)

Cap and headgear are popularly known in the western part of Nigeria as Fila and Gele respectively. It's usually worn to occasions such as weddings, naming ceremonies and house warming etc.

In this piece let’s take a look at how Cap and Headgear make ones dressing fully complete...

Fashion is all about versatility and sometimes, it’s the little things such as the traditional headgear and cap that count in both women and men’s wardrobe.
Traditionally, it is expected of men and women who wear native outfit, usually Iro and Buba for female; Buba, Sokoto and Agbada for male to adorn it with cap and headgear- FILA and GELE.
Most folks from the Yoruba origin believe in this fashion trend and they go all out for it. Also, a lot of people can’t do without it especially the ladies, and trust me, men are fast catching the buzz proudly using their Fila to occasions, work place (mostly Fridays) since it’s a dress-down day, and to other important places.
The good thing is both men and women are going extra mile to standout in their Fila and Gele, not leaving children out of it.
