PRINCE ALADE AROMIRE 6yrs Just Like Yesterday!!!

Today the 4th day of July, marks the sixth  years Remembrance of the Late  Prince Muyideen ALADE Aromire.

Prince Muyideen Alade Aromire, better known as Alade, is one of the greatest contributors to the foundation of Nollywood, especially with regards to the Yoruba movie aspect of the industry. A very imaginative man, he was the first to shoot a commercial film in Nigeria using a video camera in 1986, even if that was best described as a videodrama at that time.  But an interesting drama played out when he took his clip to the movie Censors’ Board for vetting. People like the late Hubert Ogunde got angry and blasted that a video production would not take prominence over a traditional film in his lifetime. Alade was not able to exhibit the movie until 1989.
Later, he had released over 200 films before his death, one of the most popular which is Iyawo Alhaji which also starred people like Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo) and late Bimpe Adekola (Ireti) He was the founder of  the first yoruba language channel (Yotomi Television) and Yotomi Golden Estate that he was to commission on the 15th of July before his sudden death on the 4th of July 2008.
